Cooking with Coke at Atlanta's West Egg Café

No backyard barbeque is complete without ice-cold Coca-Cola on hand. But did you know Coke can also add some spicy sweetness to your favorite grilled meats?

Atlanta, Georgia is home to both Coca-Cola® and the renowned West Egg Café. See how the West Egg Café dresses their Redneck Reuben with Coca-Cola Barbeque Sauce, then try the savory sauce for yourself!

West Egg Café's Coca-Cola Barbeque Sauce
You'll need:
1⁄4 cup vegetable oil
1 medium sweet onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1⁄4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 12-ounce can of Coca-Cola
1⁄4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 6-ounce can tomato paste
1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 Tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Heat vegetable oil in saucepan. Add diced onion and crushed garlic and sauté until translucent. Add balsamic vinegar, Coca-Cola, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and Dijon mustard. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Puree in a blender or food processor until smooth.
